Might be a nomenclature issue here. "Chunks" to me are little 200-600K blocks of the file that Newsbin eventually copies together into the actual file. When you say chunk files, I think you're meaning "RAR" files which are like one level up from chunks.
Typically you want to have your servers active so, Newsbin can pick and choose chunks from the available servers. If one server doesn't have the chunk it checks the other. Once the files is assembled from chunks though, the chunks are never referenced again for that file. They should be deleted as soon as the file is assembled.

Will Newsbin simply look at the existing chunks from GN, and then add the missing chunks from UsenetServer to complete a file?
