If I hit the connection limit, I'll (typically) get a message saying just that in the logs. Perhaps that's changed and they've bucketed all of it into one message.
Regarding support, I've only contacted them a few times, until this last go around, they've been actually pretty good, looked at the logs from their side and so on. No offer of that this time, no thought, no troubleshooting, no... well you get the idea.
