Not necessarily in this specific case, but typically this is a simple case of people keeping a low profile. You join the club, you get the magic decoder ring, otherwise the post isn't for you. It's hard for me to hold a grudge against a desire for a anonymity. Sometimes there's a simple process that anyone can do in order to decode, it's designed to be non-obvious but not impenetrable, other times nope, you need that ring. The trick for Quade is to do what he can to minimize your time digging through the latter.
