In the options/options/Main Download Folder" click "Change" then pick a folder. Then double-click $(GROUP) to add the group to the download path.
$(GROUP) abbreviates the "binaries" and "alt" parts to shorten the path and make it less likely to that you run into "Filename is too long" issues. Moving the old files into the new folder is a good way to handle it.
